King Neptune Statue

Oceanfront

King Neptune Statue is a attraction in Oceanfront, Virginia Beach, best for photos, meeting up, a Boardwalk walk anchor.

Virginia Beach's most-photographed landmark is a 34-foot bronze King Neptune rising out of Neptune's Park at 31st Street and Atlantic Avenue, trident in hand, sea creatures swirling around his wave-carved base. Sculptor Paul DiPasquale cast the god of the sea as a commanding guardian looking out over the Boardwalk and the Atlantic beyond, and the statue has become the default meeting spot and photo stop of the Oceanfront — if someone sends you one image of Virginia Beach, it's probably this. Neptune's Park around it is one of the resort strip's outdoor event venues, hosting free summer performances, and the statue gives its name to the Neptune Festival that takes over the Boardwalk every September. Free, open year-round, and worth timing for early morning or dusk when the light is good and the crowds thin.
