Docked a couple of blocks from Rudee Inlet, Pirate Water Sports runs Coast Guard-inspected parasailing boats carrying up to 12 passengers, with flyers going up solo, in tandem, or as a trio to as high as 1,000 feet for 8-to-10-minute flights. Non-flying riders can come along for the boat ride at a reduced rate, and the crew operates seven days a week from 8am to 6pm in season.

Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championships

The world's oldest continuously running surfing competition returns for its 64th year, turning the south end of the Oceanfront — from the 1st Street Jetty up to 10th Street — into a week-long surf carnival. More than 850 competitors surf pro and amateur divisions, including a WSL qualifying event, while the beach fills out with skate and BMX demos, live music, and tournament games.
