Built in 1927 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Cavalier has hosted ten U.S. Presidents and luminaries from F. Scott Fitzgerald to Elizabeth Taylor. Today it is the restored crown of the Cavalier Resort — an Autograph Collection hotel with the SeaHill Spa, the Tarnished Truth Distilling Company operating inside the hotel, and members-style poolside service at the Cavalier Beach Club across the avenue. Note for travelers with dogs: pets are not permitted at the Historic Cavalier itself — the resort routes pet owners to its Embassy Suites property.
