Little Island Park

Sandbridge

Little Island Park is a park in Sandbridge, Virginia Beach, best for pier fishing, families day-tripping to Sandbridge, staging trips into Back Bay and False Cape.

The 122-acre city park anchoring the south end of Sandbridge, and the only full-facility public landing on that five-mile stretch of residential beach: a 400-foot fishing pier, lighted tennis and pickleball courts, basketball and volleyball courts, a playground, picnic shelters with grills, restrooms, outdoor showers, and seasonal concessions. Designated swimming and surfing areas divide the oceanfront, and beach wheelchairs are available first-come, first-served. Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge begins immediately south — the seasonal tram to False Cape State Park stages from here — making Little Island the practical basecamp for the whole southern nature corridor.
